We’re still trying to figure out why Dovecot’s auth process is repeatedly crashing, although nothing has changed for months.

We think we’ve found the issue. Still not 100% sure.

Issue solved.

Our internal authentication database was flooded by requests due to a client sending spams (account hacked), which increased the response time up to Dovecot’s internal timeout, which eventually triggered the bug.

Isolating our internal database is in our TODO.
