Post-mortem: one of our users made an error in his code, which eventually led to launching thousands of processes, and the server died unexpectedly. For obvious reasons, we won’t go into more details, but this was definitely a corner case: running thousands of ‘normal’ processes (aka fork bombs) is normally not an issue and doesn’t impact other users. Those weren’t normal processes, though. We’ll reproduce the error in a testing environment to better understand what happened and, of course, fix the issue. Sorry for the trouble. |
